How To Prepare
- Avoid smoking for at least 24 hours before the test
- Avoid heavy meals 2–3 hours before testing
- Do not consume alcohol for at least 8 hours prior
- Avoid vigorous exercise at least 30 minutes to 1 hour before the test
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing that does not restrict chest or stomach
- Inform the doctor if you are on inhalers or respiratory medications (you may be advised when to withhold them, if applicable)
